My days have been colored with your absence. I want to get over you and banish your thoughts. I want to tend to my everyday chores, To feel my solitude, to write a poem, Without thinking even once about you.
So I’ve tried to keep you out of my thoughts: The color of your eyes, your smile, your easy grace; The sand in beaches I have once been to Still shows up in all my well-laundered clothes. How shall I shake off the sand of your thoughts?
