Symphony in BlackHave I told you how lovely you appear in black?
Can any other word describe your dark beauty?
You are the essence of the darkest things,
A fairy creature forbidden to me.
You’re a dark swan, and now you’ve bound me forever
In your raven tress, darker than the moonless skies;
And darker than July monsoon clouds,
Are your inscrutable kohl-lined eyes;
Why do I love you so? Perhaps it’s that cloudy thing
That stirs in me, the reason why I love the night;
A Blackbird has nested in my heart,
What will I do with a world of light?
