A Child’s Play
Imagine if love were a naughty boy.
A good boy, but not quite perfect,
Who like all boys would disappear
For days altogether;
You would worry if he was lost.
You’d call out his familiar name,
And find him playing with his friends.
“You played all day long” you will say,
It is evening. Come home”.
And he would return, just like that.
Together you’d light the prayer lamps
And finish all the pending chores.
Over dinner he would tell you
The pranks he played all day.
You would be happy in his joys.
He’d go to bed safe in your arms,
Happily dreaming of the games
Yet to be played, and adventures
He still had to plan out.
You would be glad to have him back.
